Tiger searches for Mini-Pete and Charlie
The day before I left, I was in panic mode, not because I didn't have everything in order, but because I couldn't find Mini- Pete. Many of you may not know who Mini-Pete is, so I'll tell you about him. Mini-Pete is a small ceramic yellow lab dog, that was given to me back in 2010. He has become my travel companion when I travel abroad, and I haven't gone anywhere without him, so as you could imagine, I was very concerned. He has been on some great adventures and the reality of not having him with me was sad. To put my mind at ease, I quickly decided to find another traveling buddy for the time being, and now let me introduce you to Tiger.
Tiger is from the tiny village of Laytonsville. He loves to search for things, and when He heard that Mini-Pete and Charlie went missing, He couldn't pass up the opportunity to help search for them. So, his story begins at the BWI airport, waiting to get a ticket. It's very nerve racking when you arrive at the airport and an agent is helping you get your ticket and she starts making phone calls because you have a one way ticket. Thankfully after several calls and clarification on the type of visa we had, we were all set. Mini-Pete and Charlie were no where to be found at BWI or in Kimia's stuff. Where oh where could they be...
Our flight was very relaxing...from Atlanta to Bogota, Colombia, we had an entire row to ourselves. It was lovely. We had plenty of time to rest, since we needed energy to search for missing Mini-Pete and Charlie. Once we landed in Bogota, it took an hour to get off the plane. If you know Kimia, she didn't waste time on pouting or complaining, she just made conversation with those around her. We met people from the states and Norway. Many traveling or coming home. It was wonderful. Finally after we got off the plane it was time for immigration.
Tiger is on the move, He is ready to go, the only thing stopping him is immigration. The line for immigration was a mile long and took over an hour to get through. It was rather exhausting standing, waiting and being tired. Finally after Kimia got her passport stamped, it was time to get the bags, of which were waiting for us in baggage claim. With all the bags in tow, we finally were free of the airport and ready to go head to our new home with Jose. Jose is Kima's team leader here in Colombia. He and his daughter came to pick us up. After an hour drive, we finally arrived at our new home for the time being. We are staying with Monique and Serina, until Kimia finds a place.
Tiger was exhausted as was Kimia from traveling most the day, but that didn't stop him from looking for Mini-Pete and Charlie. Suitcases were unpacked, somethings were put away, and a very big mess was made. And with all of that mess came the best surprise ever...
Tiger found Mini-Pete and Charlie! They were little stow-aways in Kimia's toiletry bag. Of course that is the most logical place for them to be. It was a great reunion for them. So now, there are three..Charlie, Mini-Pete, and Tiger the detective and it's time for bed.
