Hymn time

I am so thankful I grew up singing hymns.  My favorite hymn as a child was Blessed Assurance Jesus is Mine .  I think this is the first hymn I actually remember singing and so it became my favorite.  Anytime there was a hymn sing at church, you could only imagine what I wanted to sing.  As I grew older, I started to enjoy other hymns just as much, such as Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing, Great is Thy Faithfulness, Be Thou my Vision, Day by Day, How Great Thou Art, Take my Life and Let it Be, There is Power in the Blood and When I Survey the Wondrous Cross .   My list could on and on. To me, I feel as if hymns are full of truth.  It is not always the music that captivates me, but the words are what really grab my attention.  It is nice to have music go along with a song, but it isn't always necessary.  One of my favorite hymns I have been listening to lately is Jesus I am resting,   words were written by Jean Sophia Piggot.    Take a moment and read this song, you can find it o
