It's a small world

Sitting in a small diner in Chicago, while I was in college, with friends, I happen to over hear a table talking about a reunion in Kansas during the month of July.  I told my friends at the time, I think they are my relatives.  So I went over to the table and mentioned I over heard they were attending a family reunion in KS and asked if it was in Lindsborg, for the Adell Reunion.  They answered yes.  I said I was going also and my name is Kimia.  They looked at me and said, " we haven't seen you in years."  It's a small world.

A few years ago, I asked my pastor, if he knew of a family in Hungary working with CRU as missionaries.  He said he did, and asked me how I knew them.  I mentioned they are my relatives.  Again it's a small world.

A couple ago, I was down walking the Tidal Basin during the Cherry Blossom festival, and literally brushed by one of my college classmates, and took a double look and called her name.  Both of us were rather shocked.  Of all places eight years after college, we would meet in DC with thousands of people around.  My friends just shook their heads and smiled. It's a small world.

Now years later I am in Costa Rica at ILE- Instituto de Lengua Espanola and I introduced myself to someone I'd not met before.  I told her my name was Kimia.  She mentioned she knew another Kimia. I was curious if it was the same one I knew.  I do know three other Kimia's.  She told me the last name, and I said, "oh I know her.  We were on the field at the same time."  I then learned that she also was a MK, in the Congo and went to UBAC, the same school my mom went to when she was younger.  I told her my grandparents last name, and she said, "Yes, I know the name, and I am sure my parents could tell me more."  We talked a little bit longer and continued on our way.  It's a small small world.

When I traveled with up with people, their main song Up With People in the first line says  "up up with people, you meet them where ever you go."  Well, I have not met another up with people person in the past few years, but I have met many MK's (missionary kids) in many of the places I go.  It's a small small world.  And when you are in the Body of Christ, there are so many connections which tend to make such a big big world, a small world.

Thankful for the people I meet!
