Beautiful day for a Paseo.

Ever had one of those dreams that seemed so real.  I did the other  night before going on a hike with a group from ILE.  Let me share my dream with you.

"As people arrived we put packs in the truck and waited.   It was finally time to go.  Everyone was ready, but me.  I had one more thing I needed to do before I headed off, and I told the driver.  So I ran back inside and a moments later I  returned and there were no cars in sight...I was left behind..I had no phone or any way of connecting with anyone...my bag was in the truck.  Some one was around because they gave me their phone to use, but who has numbers memorized these days, some gave me  a directory,  which was nice so I tried to call a couple numbers but no one picked up"...and that is when I woke up from a deep sleep, my heart was pounding and it was only 5am and I still had at least 45 minutes left to sleep.  Did I sleep?  No, not after that dream.

What a dream, the day of a hike and I have a dream about being left behind.  I was sure not to let this dream actually become a reality and was up in plenty of time to get ready and walk out the door to be at our meeting place on time. And I was on time, actually early.

Several students from the school met early Saturday morning to go hike the Three Crosses in mountains.  It was a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky.  Hiking is something I just love to do.  I love being out in God's creation.  Hiking may make some people exhausted, but for me I am refreshed after a good hike.  We had a group of 10 of us go and it was so much fun.  I got to visit with about everyone on the way up and on the way down...imagine that.  And after the hike, I honestly can say I made several friends.

Three Crosses
This hike was mostly just walking straight up the mountain on a path..there were a few switchbacks which were very short, otherwise the quads began to burn as we went up...up...and up...and finally we arrived at the first cross.

Such a great bunch to hike with.

And then the journey continued up the mountain with more beautiful scenery and great company toward the second cross. We all had our warm up and now it is time to get a work out and that is exactly what it was.  Up and up and up we went... Isn't it just beautiful!!!  I was quite mesmerised by it all.

Finally we reached the 2nd Cross.

Onward we go higher up the mountain to reach the third cross.  More straight paths, some very slippery parts.  The path was basically straight up.  Finally the third cross came into view.  Don't let the trail fool you, it' was very steep...and seemed like it would never end...

Finally we made it to the top.  The 3rd Cross.

"wait...hold on...got it...now you can come up"
This is the front side of the rock...
I made it! from the backside of the rock:)

Oh a path, let's follow it...and down we  go through the forest.

and we came to a beautiful pasture, where the cows were grazing.

The clouds were hovering over the peaks of the mountains and you could feel the mist.

                                                          And see the valley's below.

And now it's time for a rest and to enjoy God's beautiful creation some more.

Charlie, Mini-Pete and Tiger.
Can you spy Mini-Pete in a few of the pictures above.
Look very closely, and you may find him.

My heart is happy!
Looking forward to the next paseo!
