It's Christmas time in the City...

For Unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ~ Isaiah 9:6


Away in a manger
 
Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.
The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay,
The little Lord Jesus asleep in the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus no crying he makes.
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky
And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in thy tender care,
And take us to heaven, to live with Thee there.



Today, isn't about the gifts we receive, even thought it is nice.  Today is really about the true gift, the most precious gift...JESUS! Jesus came to us as a little babe, so humbly he came into this world, in a stable, and he slept in a manger, a bright star shone in the sky, which led the wisemen and the Shepherds to him, it was an evening like no other.   Can you imagine the joy that filled Mary,Joseph and those that visited him.  That same joy, the joy of knowing Jesus, is ours today and everyday!  How beautiful it is, that our Savior Jesus has come to give us life!   And the same Jesus gave his life, humbly at the cross, to save us from our sin, so we too could have life in Him.  It's just beautiful, beautiful it is!


Yesterday was a warm winter, summer's day and I spent the day with Roop family, as we celebrated Christmas.  I have been so blessed to spend Christmas with them and enjoy being part of their family.  Today, even though it's been rainy, has it's own beauty.  
 It's not every Christmas I can say I wore a summer's dress, or say I was able walk barefoot in the puddles in the street, it's a different kind of beautiful day and I have enjoyed it. I was able to visit the Kenny's and Gill's....

I stopped by to see R and R and family. And what a joy it is every time I see them!

His Love Will Never Fail!

Enjoying a girls afternoon! Dear Friends, One year ago, this month, I left the states to be a missionary, a desire the Lord put in my heart a long time ago.  I left for Colombia, South America and a short time later, I moved to Costa Rica to study Spanish.  Living in Costa Rica is amazing.  From the sunny days and cool evenings to the people I meet and have the opportunity to pray with and share Christ with, I couldn't ask for anything better. The adventures of Mini-Pete and Pals!

Exploring, climbing, hiding, is what we, Mini-Pete, Charlie and Tiger enjoy doing.  We've had some great adventures...Before we begin...let me officially introduce ourselves. The yellow lab- that is me Mini-Pete,  Tiger is in the middle and Charlie is the German Shepherd The journey of Mini-Pete just began with me, years ago traveling by myself.  However a year ago, I was told you need a friend to travel with, so Charlie came on board.  Charlie and I both came from the same home- so it was nice to catch up after several years and it was very kind of Shelly to give us both to Kimia.   This is Kimia-an adventurous, fun and loving person. The fact that she takes two little dogs and tiger with her about every where she goes..tell you that she is young at heart .
