He is Faithful- February 2016

I remember the day I was so excited that school was over!  I rejoiced, no more sitting in classes, hours studying, assignments to hand in or tests to take, thinking to myself, I am done, no more classes.   Now, I am student once again, taking Bible Classes and spending many hours studying, reading, and taking quizzes.  Honestly, I don’t think school ever ends because we are constantly learning.  I have almost completed the Old Testament Class and have thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to the New Testament and Mission Theology.  I am in awe of God’s faithfulness, not only in the lives of those in the Bible, but also in my life.

Just keep studying..Just keep studying
Lately, I have felt like a nomad, one who doesn’t have a permanent place, who keeps moving from one place to another, with suitcases in hand. It can get tiresome, but I am reminded of God’s faithfulness.  Abraham was asked to leave his family and to trust the Lord, Moses and the Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years, and in each of their lives God was faithful, He provided just what they needed. In the same way, the Lord is faithful to me. He has gone before me and prepared the way. He has provided places for me to live, ministry partners to come along side His work, friends to spend time with, and most importantly a heart that continues to grow deeper in Love with my Savior.

Friends gather together to learn more about my ministry in
Colombia Dec. 2015 but first they have to put a puzzle of
South America together.

The Lord has reminded me over and over again the past few months, when I have felt unsettled, that my real home is not in the this world, but in eternity with Him. The words from this hymn, “Jesus
I am Resting written by Jean Sophia Pigott has spoken so much to my heart lately.

Simply trusting Thee, Lord Jesus,
I behold Thee as Thou art.
And Thy love, so pure, so changeless,
Satisfies my heart.
Satisfies its deepest longings.
Meets, supplies its every need.
Compasseth me round with blessings,
Thine is love indeed.
Jesus I am resting, resting
In the joy of what Thou art,
I am finding out the greatness
Of Thy loving Heart.

What’s Next?
After I write this, I am back to studying, so I can finish my classes before I leave.
 When are you leaving?
I am looking at a possible early/mid March departure date. I am about fully funded- 96%
How can I pray for you?
Energy to study and finish my classes and that I find joy in doing it.
Smooth transitions that will be coming up.
Continued opportunities to share Christ with others while I am here in the States.
 How can I learn more?
